Tess Gendall
Managing Director

Tess established Gendall Design in 1986 and has developed the company to its current capability. She has a wealth of experience in graphic design, publication design and brand design. Tess has been responsible for extensive work for the Eden Project, Unversity College Falmouth, Cornwall Family Services and the Cornwall Brand. Tess’s work has been recognised in the Marketing Design Awards and McNaughton Review.

Paul Mulraney BA (Hons)
Digital Creative Director
Paul graduated from the Creative Advertising pgDip at the University College of Falmouth in 1999 after studying Fine Art in Sheffield. In the following years he has created award winning websites, ecomms, games and mobile applications for a broad range of blue chip clients including the BBC, eBay, FT, Gordon’s, Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II, Lynx, Nissan, the RAF and T-Mobile. His combined experience of creative, technical and business requirements helps to ensure that Gendall’s digital output exceeds the expectations of both clients and users.

Alan Bentley BA (Hons)
Senior website developer
Alan studied Graphic Design at Coventry University, and worked at Renfrew Group as website designer on projects for Hasbro, Namco Games and Swinton Insurance before moving to the South West and joining Gendall. Alan is responsible for web design and realisation, and specialises in creating user-friendly, intuitive, highly accessible and compliant online interfaces for both websites and CD-ROMs.

Jason Salisbury BA (Hons)
Senior Designer
Jason graduated from Solent University, an RSA Student Design award winner who now has over eight years’ experience in creating brand communication, graphic design and exhibition work for the Eden Project, Trelowarren Estate, Culture South West, Cornwall Enterprise and Pendennis Superyachts. Jason was the lead designer on the Geevor Hard Rock Museum.

John Lowdon BA (Hons)
Senior Designer
John graduated from Solent University in 1998. Since then he has gained invaluable experience working as a lead designer on high profile projects including extensive brand and customer communications for 3 and Lloyds TSB. John made the move to Cornwall in 2005, where he has since worked on brand and print projects for Cornwall Care, Historic Scotland and PML. At Gendall John has led brand work for LHC and Torbay Safer Communities, campaign design for Cornwall College and exhibition design for National Maritime Museum Cornwall and FutureWorld (BT).

Diggory Gordon BA (Hons)
Designer
Diggory studied at Central Saint Martins before working for London agencies Contra, New Future Graphic and Perfect Day working for clients including Coca-Cola, Nokia, Morgan Stanley, Nike and the Conservative Party. Diggory joined Gendall in 2006 and has been responsible for extensive work for University College Falmouth and the Eden Project.

Stephen McKellar BSc (Hons)
Web developer
Stephen has joined Gendall with a background in both the arts and science, including 3 years experience in developing bespoke content management systems, as well as booking and payment mechanisms. He is responsible for delivering creative solutions in his role of developer, ensuring that the latest and most reliable online technology is implemented throughout all our digital projects.

Hanna Oakes BA (Hons)
Project Manager
Hanna joined Gendall with a ‘first’ in graphic design from Falmouth College of Arts in 2002. Hanna has managed projects for a wide range of clients including the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, Cornwall Arts Marketing, Truro Cathedral, Tregothnan Estate, Cornwall College and the National Trust. Hanna is the daily point of contact for many of our clients, and is responsible for ensuring our projects are delivered on brief, on time and on budget.

Kate Austin-Smith
Project Administrator

Kate has gained invaluable experience and knowledge from her time in London having managed a diverse range of clients including Nike, Icesave and The Rainforest Foundation. Kate understands the importance of effective design and in her role as project administrator ensures that timings are met, budgets are used effectively and overall ensures that everything exceeds expectations.

Martin Coote BA (Hons)
Production Manager

Martin has qualifications in Graphic Design, Photography and Media Arts and an extensive knowledge of production software and processes. He brings a broad experience of layout, typography, photography and an attention to detail to our Artwork Department. He is responsible for producing accurate and effective artwork for brand implementation in print, exhibition and website applications.

Danielle Burnford BA (Hons)

Finance Manager
Since graduating from Cambridge University Danielle spent several years working as a business consultant, gaining experience in a wide variety of sectors and developing her skills in research, funding, business planning and project management. Danielle has recently gained her AAT qualification to back up her practical experience, and joined Gendall in 2007 where she is responsible for all financial planning and control.

Hannah Chapman MA (Hons)
Office Administrator
Hannah graduated with a degree in English Literature before completing an MA in Illustration at University College Falmouth in 2009. She has varied administration experience in a range of roles and is now responsible for the day to day running of the Gendall studio.
